TOPEKA, KS–One of Kansas’ leading crisis intervention service providers,, HealthSource Integrated Solutions, is launching a rebrand of the 988 Kansas Lifeline during the September commemoration of National Suicide Prevention Month. HealthSource Integrated Solutions is one of five Kansas-based providers of the 988 Kansas Lifeline. The new site identity will support a year-long, statewide campaign to increase awareness about the community helpline.
On July 16, 2026, the 988 Kansas Lifeline celebrated four years of ongoing outreach to Kansas communities. During that time, 988 providers across the state received over 163,270 calls, chats, and texts from Kansans in need.
Data from KDHE’s Kansas Violent Death Reporting System indicates that suicide mortality has decreased by 12.54% since implementation of the 988 Kansas Lifeline (previously the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) in 2022. While suicide rates are influenced by many factors, the trend reflects encouraging progress during a period of expanded access to mental health and crisis support.
The focus of the 2026 campaign, developed and coordinated in partnership with Wichita-based strategic marketing agency Howerton+White, emphasizes that 988 is for everyone.
“988 specializes in mental health crisis response services. The Kansas Lifeline provides resources and support for anyone experiencing emotional distress, struggling with mental health, concerned about a loved one, or needing someone to talk with about difficult issues,” said Jared Auten, LMSW and Director of Crisis Communications for HealthSource. The 988 Kansas Lifeline provides welcoming and non-judgmental support and connection to local behavioral health resources.
